  My family of four (kids 15 and 12) recently returned from a Spring Break trip to Iceland and there is no question that Petur from Icelandic Elements made our experience... read more even better than we expected. We booked Petur to take us fishing, do some of the Golden Circle and take us to a hot spring. It was a cold, windy day for fishing but Petur was great, he brought us to a river that was out of the way and proceeded to run back and forth to help the kids get unstuck, untangled, etc. Rest of the tour was just as good, lots of local knowledge everywhere we went. We had booked a different tour to hike up a volcano a couple of days later but it was cancelled due to weather. We immediately contacted Petur and asked if he was available and fortunately he was. The weather was cold and rainy and we could not make the volcano hike but he took us to some amazing places and really saved our day! We realized that you cannot ever count on the weather in Iceland and having a guide like Petur, who can be flexible and make changes no matter what the weather is, is incredibly valuable. When you only have 3-4 days losing one would be devastating. Overall I Cannot recommend Petur enough, we'll definitely be back to Iceland and can't wait to have Petur show us more of that beautiful country.

I had an amazing day fishing with Petur, he was super knowledgeable about the river and area we went to. He provided a friendly and great learning experience which can be rare to find in other guides. He showed me all the best fishing areas on the river as well as provided the best flies to fish with at that time. I am happy to say that we caught sea run brown trout which is a fish species I specifically came to Iceland to catch.
