We booked Petur to take us fishing, do some of the Golden Circle and take us to a hot spring. It was a cold, windy day for fishing but Petur was great, he brought us to a river that was out of the way and proceeded to run back and forth to help the kids get unstuck, untangled, etc. Rest of the tour was just as good, lots of local knowledge everywhere we went. We had booked a different tour to hike up a volcano a couple of days later but it was cancelled due to weather. We immediately contacted Petur and asked if he was available and fortunately he was. The weather was cold and rainy and we could not make the volcano hike but he took us to some amazing places and really saved our day! We realized that you cannot ever count on the weather in Iceland and having a guide like Petur, who can be flexible and make changes no matter what the weather is, is incredibly valuable. When you only have 3-4 days losing one would be devastating. Overall I Cannot recommend Petur enough, we'll definitely be back to Iceland and can't wait to have Petur show us more of that beautiful country.

Icelandic Elements offers a good range of private tours, but the one I was focused on was... read more the fishing tour. I contacted them, and shortly got an answer from Petur, the owner. He took me to one of his secret rivers that he thought would be good for fishing at that time of the year because it was late in the season. Since I am a seasoned fisher man, Petur could fish with me and did not have to teach me how to fish, but he pointed out the best spots and let me take the first casts. We started with the fly rods that he provided but the fish was not biting (probably my lack of experience), so I changed in to my rod with the secret lure and right away the action started!! I caught 6 nice artic char that after noon and it was the first time I ever caught an arctic char. What a fishing trip it was and Icelandic Elements and Petur come highly recommended!

Petur collected us from the overnight flight and organized breakfast so we could regroup and head directly to the Fagradalsfjall volcano to observe the eruption. We hiked up and had a perfect vantage point to watch the flow of lava.
Petur took us on tours to the Golden Circle, the Husafell area and a super fun morning of fishing near Reykjavik.
Petur was helpful on all the details of our trip - finding a guide in the Akureyri area, the perfect hotel on the south coast, getting a covid test in Reykjavik, the list goes on!
