We booked Petur to take us fishing, do some of the Golden Circle and take us to a hot spring. It was a cold, windy day for fishing but Petur was great, he brought us to a river that was out of the way and proceeded to run back and forth to help the kids get unstuck, untangled, etc. Rest of the tour was just as good, lots of local knowledge everywhere we went. We had booked a different tour to hike up a volcano a couple of days later but it was cancelled due to weather. We immediately contacted Petur and asked if he was available and fortunately he was. The weather was cold and rainy and we could not make the volcano hike but he took us to some amazing places and really saved our day! We realized that you cannot ever count on the weather in Iceland and having a guide like Petur, who can be flexible and make changes no matter what the weather is, is incredibly valuable. When you only have 3-4 days losing one would be devastating. Overall I Cannot recommend Petur enough, we'll definitely be back to Iceland and can't wait to have Petur show us more of that beautiful country.

I had an amazing day fishing with Petur, he was super knowledgeable about the river and area we went to. He provided a friendly and great learning experience which can be rare to find in other guides. He showed me all the best fishing areas on the river as well as provided the best flies to fish with at that time. I am happy to say that we caught sea run brown trout which is a fish species I specifically came to Iceland to catch. Petur is very knowledgeable about all things Iceland.   Recently returned from Iceland where we experienced the most amazing trip to the Geldingadalir volcano which was in the full process of erupting. Many thanks to Petur Benedikt of... read more Icelandic Elements for guiding us to see the amazing spectacle of nature in it’s raw primal elemental state. Petur collected us from our hotel in Reykjavik and drove us to the volcano location. Such a pleasant and knowledgeable person and so easy to listen to - throughout the journey he spoke with interest and has an obvious passion for both what he is doing and his love of Iceland. The hike itself was quite tough - the terrain was difficult and the weather at times was very harsh with driving rain and gusty winds - it was an evening/night trip which added to the difficulty. Throughout the hike Petur was attentive to both weather and volcano conditions and also our well being making sure we were always ok with safety paramount at all times. He made sure we got the best possible experience under the difficult conditions rewarding us with great photo and video opportunities for a ‘once in a lifetime’ truly awesome sight. Petur is someone who knows what he is doing and you can rely on his knowledge and expertise. A fantastic guide who provides a great experience. We can highly recommend him and his company and would not hesitate to book with him again.
